We live inside these quiet records without reading them, the way we forget the grammar of our own mother tongue until someone points it out.

Homes are archives written in a language of marks and misplacements. A bookshelf tilted by too many books, a door that sticks in summer, a step that creaks only at three in the morning: each is a sentence the house has composed about the lives it shelters. We rarely read these sentences aloud, yet we trust them completely.

Perhaps we should learn to read our rooms the way we read poems, slowly and without hurry. The loose hinge is an apology; the worn armchair is an inheritance. And when visitors say your house feels welcoming, what they have done, without knowing it, is read a story you spent years writing in a language that has no words.
